Jacqueline Lee Ranked In Pre-Season Poll

Sept. 19, 2007

IOWA CITY – The women’s tennis team has claimed one singles spot in the September 7th FILA pre-season rankings. Senior Jacqueline Lee is ranked 108th nationally. She posted a 10-9 singles record at No. 1 and collected eight dual match doubles wins with Mili Veselinovic during the spring season. She also earned a spot on the all-Big Ten team in 2007.

“Jacqueline has worked hard and improved greatly in three years here at Iowa. She had a very good year last year. She is certainly deserving of her pre-season ranking,” said Iowa Head Coach Daryl Greenan. Lee, along with freshman teammate Alexis Dorr, will travel to the ITA all-American Championships, Sept. 29-Oct. 7 in Pacific Palisades, CA.

“It is a great honor for Jacqueline and Alexis to be selected for the prestigious all-American event. It is one of three national events and one that I hope more Hawkeyes will qualify for in the future,” said Greenan.

The women’s tennis team will begin its fall season at the Roberta Alison Invitational, Sept. 28-30, in Tuscaloosa, AL.
