IOWA CITY – – The UI Department of Athletics and KCRG-TV9 announced today that four Iowa women’s basketball home games this season will be televised live in eastern Iowa. The schedule includes three times changes from the previously released Hawkeye schedule.
The contests selected for television are games against Detroit (Dec. 2), Wisconsin (Jan. 13), Indiana (Feb. 3) and Iowa’s second game of the KCRG Hawkeye Challenge (Dec. 9).
Iowa games vs. Detroit and Wisconsin have been changed to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively. On Dec. 9, the game (KCRG Hawkeye Challenge championship or consolation) involving Iowa will be played at noon. The Iowa-Indiana game time did not change.
The UI and KCRG will also continue to produce 30-minute specials for broadcast monthly from November to March.
This marks the eighth season that KCRG will televise the Hawkeye women. KCRG has televised over 25 Iowa games the last seven seasons.
Hawkeye fans will be able to watch 13 regular season women’s basketball games in eastern Iowa. In addition to the four contests on KCRG, eight games will be televised on the Big Ten Network and Iowa’s game at Iowa State will be broadcast on Mediacom’s Connections channel.
Iowa opens its season tomorrow with an exhibition game vs. Nebraska-Omaha. Tip-off is slated for 7:05 p.m. at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
