IOWA CITY – The destination and next opponent of the Iowa field hockey team was revealed tonight. Fifth-ranked Iowa (17-3) will play No. 11 Boston University (17-5) in Storrs, CT, Saturday at 1 p.m. (CST) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The other two teams in the Storrs region include No. 4 Connecticut and the University of Massachusetts. The winner from the Storrs region will advance to the NCAA Final Four (Nov. 16 and 18) in College Park, MD.

“Emotionally we weren’t very dramatic,” Head Coach Tracey Griesbaum said. “We already knew we were in and we don’t really care who or where we play. We are going to stay focused and handle the task at hand. We are just very excited to get the tournament started.”

The Big Ten Tournament champion Iowa Hawkeyes are one of four Big Ten schools (Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State) selected to the tournament.
