WHO
Buck Night 2007 pits Lisa Bluder’s University of Iowa women’s basketball team against Georgia Tech, one of seven teams on the Hawkeyes’ 2007-08 schedule that participated in last year’s NCAA Tournament.
WHAT
Buck Night is an annual event staged by the UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics that invites friends of the UI and fans of the Hawkeyes to “sample” the very best in women’s college basketball. Tickets for adults are just a dollar; boys and girls high school age and younger are admitted free.
This year’s Buck Night game is also part of the first-ever Big Ten-ACC Challenge for women’s basketball. Iowa will, of course, be representing the Big Ten Conference and Georgia Tech, of course, will be representing the Atlantic Coast Conference. It is one of 11 games that comprise this year’s Big Ten-ACC Challenge for women’s basketball.
WHEN
Buck Night 2007 is Wednesday, Nov. 28. Tip-off is scheduled for shortly after 8 p.m. and the game will be televised live to a national audience by the Big Ten Network.
WHERE
Carver-Hawkeye Arena on the campus of the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
WHY WE NEED YOU THERE
It’s an important game for the Hawkeyes…national television…tough opponent…home-court pride. And, because it’s pretty much a risk-free night off the couch – your ticket costs only $1 – we’re hoping you’ll find your way to Carver to support the Hawkeyes, you’ll like what you see, and you’ll come back for another game or two during the 2007-08 women’s college basketball season!
