Iowa’s 44-point victory (87-43) over Northern Illinois improved its Hawkeye Challenge record to 38-5 since the tournament began in 1985. The Hawkeyes have won 17 of the previous 21 Hawkeye Challenge titles.
Iowa’s 44-point triumph ties as the program’s 17th-biggest margin of victory, equaling its 93-49 win over Iowa State during the 1987-88 season.
Iowa is 2-1 in contests against Wyoming, with all three contests played on neutral courts. Iowa won its last game against the Cowgirls (83-40) at the Hawaii Wahine Classic, Nov. 25, 1988.
Sunday’s game against Wyoming will be Iowa’s fourth against a school from a major conference. Iowa has played contests against a team from the SEC (Mississippi State), Pac-10 (Arizona State), ACC (Georgia Tech) and the Big XII (Iowa State).

Iowa’s 87 points against Northern Illinois Saturday was a season high, besting its previous high by 10 points (77 at Northern Iowa).
The Hawkeyes shot a season-high 62.5 percent (10-16) from 3-point range Saturday. Furthermore, the 10 triples are a season high and were only one from matching the arena record (11 vs. Purdue, Feb. 8, 2001). Iowa has shot 40 percent or better from behind the arc in five games this season.
Lindsey Nyenhuis had a career game Saturday, pouring in a game and career-high 14 points. The junior was 5-6 from the floor, including a perfect 4-4 from 3-point range. Saturday marked the second time in her career that she was 4-4 in a single-game (vs. Penn State, 2007).
JoAnn Hamlin posted her best numbers of the season Saturday. The sophomore transfer netted 12 points (6-10 FG) and also collected four assists and two steals.
Stacy Schlapkohl started her first game of the season Saturday. The senior tallied seven points and had two rebounds.
Iowa’s bench out-scored Northern Illinois by a staggering 27 points (49-22). Ten Hawkeyes scored four points or more against the Huskies and no student-athlete played more than 23 minutes.
Iowa only committed 12 turnovers vs. Northern Illinois, which is a season low for the Hawkeyes. Iowa also dished out a season-high 23 assists Saturday.
Iowa is 57-28 (.659) in non-conference games, including boasting a 35-11 (.761) mark in non-league home contests under Coach Bluder.
Iowa is 6-0 when scoring 60 points or more, having a higher field goal and 3-point percentage than its opposition and 5-0 when securing more rebounds and assists.
Johanna Solverson’s 10 points against Northern Illinois moved her past Lynn Kennedy and into 26th-place in Iowa career scoring. She also collected one steal, which moved past Cara Consuegra and into 11th place in career thefts.
Johanna Solverson has amassed 297 career steals, which ranks ninth in school annals, she is only three away from 300.
Megan Skouby has blocked 95 shots in her three-year career, only five shy of reaching the century mark.
