IOWA CITY — Iowa Head Women’s Golf Coach Kelly Crawford announced today the signing of Chelsea Harris and Ann Vrdolyak to National Letters of Intent to attend The University of Iowa next fall.

“We are really excited to have Chelsea and Ann join our team in the fall,” said Crawford. “Both are multi-sport athletes and I expect them to bring a higher level of competition to our program. Both are long ball hitters and with improved short-games and course management I definitely see them helping this team move up in the conference.”

Harris, a native of Normal, IL, was part of a three-time state championship University High School golf team. Her team placed second at the state tournament her freshman season, which was the only time they lost a high school match in four years. She contributed a 20th-place finish in the 2007 state tournament. Harris is a four-year letterwinner, three-time all-conference, two-time MVP and was a conference champion. She holds the course record at the D.A. Weibring Golf Club, at Illinois State, with a two-under par (70). Harris also qualified for the Big I National Tournament, held in Boise, ID, by winning the Illinois regional and state qualifiers.

Vrdolyak a native of Flossmoor, IL, is a four-year letterwinner at Marion Catholic High School. A two-time all-conference honoree, Vrdolyak finished third at regionals, fifth at sectionals and 31st at the state tournament her senior season. She helped contribute to her team’s second-place state tournament finish in 2005, third place finish in 2007 and fourth place finish in 2006. Vrdolyak has multiple top-five finishes in Illinois Junior Golf Association (IJGA) Tournaments. She placed first at the IJGA Event at Silver Lakes. Vrdolyak qualified for the IJGA Tournament of Champions. She also finished third in the 2006 IHSA Sectional Championship with a round of 75.
