Austin, TX-

The University of Iowa women’s rowing team placed first in all four of their races on Sunday. Both novice and varsity boats competed in day two of competition.

Iowa competed in four races against Kansas State in the morning session, including the 2N8+, N8+, 2V8+, and V8+. The Hawkeyes dominated the 2N8+ race, winning with a final score of 7:32.2 to 8:20.4.

“Today was a nice finish to our regatta weekend, winning all of our races. I was pleased with the shifts some of our crews made in their race execution,” said Hawkeye Head Coach Mandi Kowal. “This weekends races were a good gage as to where we are and what we have to work on. Overall, I was pleased with some of the speed we did see during these racing series but we still have plenty of work to do.”

Iowa boats return to the water April 5 to compete against Minnesota and Creighton in Solon, IA on Lake McBride.
