COLUMBUS, OH – The University of Iowa men’s golf team finished day one at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate Saturday. The Hawkeyes are currently 12th in the 14-team field, with a 36-hole score of 631 (+63). Michigan State is the front-runner with a 605 (+37).
Junior Cole Peevler had another strong performance for the Hawkeyes, posting a 36-hole score of 151 (+9). Peevler is tied for ninth overall. Senior Todd Larson also had a strong outing, recording a 154 (+12). He is tied for 24th. Freshman Vince India is tied for 55th with a 161 (+19) and senior Dan Holterhaus shot a 165 (+23) to tie for 67th. In addition, freshman James Reiss saw the first action of his career Saturday. Reiss is in 75th after recording a 170 (+28).
Competition will conclude tomorrow with 18 holes. Teams will begin play with a 9 a.m. (CDT) shotgun start.
