WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – The University of Iowa men’s golf team finished its first day of competition at the Boilermaker Invitational Saturday. The Hawkeyes are currently tied for ninth in the 14-team field, with a 36-hole score of 580 (+4). Indiana is leading the event with a 563 (-13).
Freshman Vince India led the Hawkeyes Saturday. He fired a stellar four-under par 140 to tie for sixth. Junior Cole Peevler is currently tied for 30th with a 146 (+2). Todd Larson recorded a 36-hole score of 149 (+5). He is tied for 52nd. Dan Holterhaus is tied for 55th after recording a 150 (+6). In addition, Adam Miller posted a 151 (+7) to tie for 59th.
“We let a couple of opportunities slip away this afternoon,” said Head Coach Mark Hankins. “Vince had a great day, starting with a 68 then following that up with a 72. I am glad he got off to a good start and hopefully he can finish strong.”
The Hawkeyes wrap up play at the Boilermaker Invite tomorrow. Competition will begin with an 8 a.m. CDT shotgun start.
