IOWA CITY, IA – The University of Iowa soccer team was recently named as one of the 416 collegiate soccer teams across the nation that earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NCSAA) Team Academic Award for the 2007-08 season.

The Hawkeyes had a team grade-point average of 3.21 and were one of eight Big Ten universities represented on the list. Head Coach Ron Rainey was pleased with the progress his team has made on the classroom.

“We are excited to receive this team award,” the Hawkeyes’ third-year coach said. “It shows the student athletes here are progressing in the classroom as well as on the field.”
