Iowa Announces Complete Men's Basketball Schedule

IOWA CITY, Iowa – – The University of Iowa’s 2008-09 non-conference men’s basketball schedule includes appearances on the Big Ten Network, ESPNU and Mediacom Connections. Similar to Iowa’s Big Ten Conference home games, the Hawkeyes do not have any start times as late as 8 p.m. central time. Just one non-conference home date will start at 7:35 p.m. CT.

The Hawkeyes open the regular season on Friday, November 14, hosting Charleston Southern at 7:05 p.m. That game, along with the Nov. 9 exhibition contest against Wayne State (MI), will be available on Mediacom Connections channels throughout the state. Other Iowa games on Mediacom Connections include the Nov. 17 home game vs. Texas-San Antonio and the Nov. 25 date against Southeast Missouri State.

All four Hawkeye games appearing on Mediacom Connections will also be available via streaming video on the Big Ten Network website, bigtennetwork.com.

Non-conference games vs. Boston College (away), Northern Iowa (home), Drake (away) and Western Illinois (home) will be televised on ESPNU. The Big Ten Network will televise contests against Oakland University, Bryant University and the Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series match up with Iowa State on Friday, Dec. 12.

Iowa’s road games at The Citadel (Nov. 20) and West Virginia (Nov. 28), in Las Vegas, are not currently slated to be televised. Iowa will also meet either Kansas State or Kentucky on Nov. 29 as part of the Las Vegas Invitational. The championship game of the Las Vegas event will be televised on ESPN2.

The Big Ten Network and Mediacom recently reached an agreement that will provide full coverage of all University of Iowa athletic events aired on the Big Ten Network to more than 400,000 Mediacom customers.
