Oct. 16, 2008

IOWA CITY, IA – Fans of Coach Todd Lickliter’s University of Iowa men’s basketball team, take note: You’ve been invited to attend a team practice at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Iowa’s practice on Saturday, Oct. 25 – the bye-week for the Hawkeye football team – will be open to the public. The Hawkeyes are scheduled to practice for two hours, beginning at 1 p.m. The north and west doors of Carver-Hawkeye Arena will open at 12:30 p.m.

Fans attending this “sneak peek” at the 2008-09 Iowa Hawkeyes will be invited to register for door prizes ranging from free pairs of tickets to select home games to gift certificates to the official Iowa Hawk Shop. The Hawk Shop and select concessions stands will be open throughout the practice session.

“We think this will be a nice opportunity for fans to see our team after we’ve been on the court for a week or so as a unit,” said Lickliter, heading into his second season as Iowa’s head coach. “We appreciate the loyal fan support. This will allow our fans to get to know this year’s team while attending practice.”
