IOWA CITY, Iowa — Fans of the University of Iowa men’s basketball team — young and old, dressed in Halloween costume or not — are invited to shoot a few hoops with Coach Todd Lickliter’s squad on Friday, Oct. 31, at the food court of Coral Ridge Mall.
The 2008-09 Hawkeyes will be available for photographs, autographs and some free throw shooting from 4:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. Youngsters in costume will receive candy and a voucher for free admission to select home games of the team.
Fans will be invited to register for door prizes ranging from pairs of tickets to home games of the Hawkeyes, to gift certificates at the Official Iowa Hawk Shop. Official team posters will also be available.
The appearance of the Hawkeyes will be taking place during the mall’s monthly “Family Free Friday Night” — from 5-8 p.m. — which includes many free activities for youngsters, including free carousel rides, free admission to the Iowa Children’s Museum and discounts from vendors in the mall’s food court.
