“It was a really good start to the season. I thought we did a good job working for some high percentage shots. We shot the ball extremely well, 56 percent from the field. It was a really nice team win. I just thought that everybody did a good job contributing, no matter when they got in the game or how much they played. It’s nice to get the first one down and now the season is underway.”
On progression of Alexander and Hamlin
“Well I think today they really showed how far they’ve come. JoAnn [Hamlin] is just a presence inside. I love her attitude, that don’t-mess-with-me attitude and I think that really rubs off on the rest of our team. Kachine [Alexander]’s work on offensive rebounds, her defensive effort, and her commitment to working on her offense during the summer is really paying dividends. So to have Kachine back and to have JoAnn back healthy is really key to us.
