Bryant University Head Coach Tim O’Shea
“I played against Todd’s teams a couple times when I was at Ohio and he was coaching at Butler. They always have very, very good man-to-man defense. From a stand point of athleticism, they’re obviously a Big Ten team and we’re a team making the transition from Division II to Division I, but I saw the game against Boston College and they are a very physical team that Iowa held in the 50’s. I think they have a very nice team that, as these younger players mature and gain confidence, they will have a chance to have a very nice season.”
“I’m really looking forward to building a program at Bryant. I’m from the New England area and I was really excited to get back to that part of the country, and I also have the opportunity to build a program. I think what we look like now will be very different compared to what we will look like in four or five years.”
Iowa Hawkeye Head Coach Todd Lickliter
“I’d like to start by saying that I think that Tim (O’Shea) has done a terrific job with this team during this transition and he is a terrific coach. They will be very tough to play against because they do very tough things defensively and that makes them very difficult to play.”
“Tonight I thought the guys were focused and our defense was strong. I thought that we struggled for the first five minutes in the first half, but other than that I think we played pretty strong.”
“I think the group that started the last game was very effective. I thought it was good to go with that and see how it worked. That was the reason I did that, because the group that started last game worked well together and were very good defensively together.”
“He is a terrific shooter and he made some tough ones for us tonight. I though he was pretty effective and he played some good minutes tonight.”
