With half the season over, what parts of your game are you focusing on?
“Right now, I am trying to focus on rebounding, because that is a key thing for our team, as well as being a better defender. I am also trying to be more of an offensive threat, so really I guess I am trying to work on all parts of my game.”
Where is the toughest place you’ve ever played?
“That’s a hard one for me, because I have played at both Big 12 and Big 10 arenas. The hardest would probably be at Texas or Minnesota just because the crowds are so loud.”
What season/holiday has the best types of candy in your opinion?
“Of course, Christmas! I mean you get to have sugar cookies and chocolate… there is nothing better than that!”
As a player, what has been the biggest difference from last year to this year?
“I would have to say my passion for the game, this year I really want to play and be out there on the court. I also have been trying to be more of a rebounding force this year.”
What is on your iPod right now?
“Well, I listen to about everything; anything between r&b, country, rock and Christian. Before games I like to listen to some rock/hard rock to get me really pumped up.”
Where is your favorite place to go for a fast food burger?
“Right now, I would have to say Sonic. A super sonic cheese burger is so good, but so bad for you. I also like Diary Queen cheese burgers, as well.”
What are you doing when you are not on the basketball court?
“When I am not on the court, I am usually in class when classes are in session, but other than that I like to hang out and take naps. I usually take a nap a day, it keeps me energized. I also like to watch movies and hang out with my friends.”
Do you have any New Year’s Resolutions?
“I don’t do New Year’s resolutions because when most people do them it only lasts for a month or two, so I just try to make this year better than the last.”You could go to dinner with three other people. Who would you choose?”I would love to meet Bobby Knight and Coach K, so those two would definitely be there and the third person I guess would be Michael Jordan. That is kind of a classic basketball answer but I would love to meet these people for other reasons besides basketball.”
What do you do to keep those long car rides back home to Kansas interesting?
“Well, I like to listen to stand up comedians. I love to laugh and this keeps me away while driving. I like to listen to Rodney Carington and the blue comedy tours. I also will sing a tone or two as well.”
