UI Students: 'Buddy Night' Tonight at Carver

Jan. 21, 2009

University of Iowa Game Notes

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa students returned to the UI campus over the weekend in anticipation of the start of classes yesterday. Waiting for them in their e-mail box was the following invitation from the UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics:

Happy New Year and welcome back to campus! We hope you had a great break and enjoyed the Hawkeyes’ performance in the 2009 Outback Bowl. It certainly was a great day to be a Hawkeye!

We want to remind you that Coach Todd Lickliter’s Iowa men’s basketball team returns to action in Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Wednesday (Jan. 21) when they entertain arch-rival Wisconsin at 7:35 p.m.

As a student season ticket holder, we invite you to “Bring a Buddy” with you to Carver. This is a big game for the Hawkeyes — a loud and engaged and large student section would provide great energy for our young team to feed off.

Students who take us up on the offer to bring a friend with them to the Arena will be eligible to win one of five $40 gift certificates to the University of Iowa Bookstore. We will announce the winners early in the second half. One of the five winners will also win a $30 gift certificate to the Official Iowa Hawk Shop.

Your guest will need a game ticket. Simply click HERE log in to your online ticket account, print your guest’s free game ticket, and – of course – have your guest bring the game ticket with them to Carver – that’s important, too, because we can’t allow them entry without a game ticket!

Also, to be eligible for the gift certificate drawing, please bring THIS e-mail with the information below completed with you to the Arena. A member of the UI Sports Marketing Office will be located at a table immediately behind section H from 6 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. – so plan to arrive early!

We hope to see you – and a guest of yours – at Carver next Wednesday. And, as always, be loud and be proud.

Go Hawks!
