2009 Iowa Football Spring Practice Schedule
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Come one high school coach, come all. Oh, yeah, You junior college guys, you’re welcome to.
The invitation is to attend one of 10 practices of the 2009 University of Iowa football team that will be open to peers of Coach Kirk Ferentz and his UI football coaching staff.
Coaches interested in checking out the Hawkeyes should contact the UI Football Office in advance at (319) 335-8943 and only those coaches with the appropriate credentials issued by the UI Football Office will be allowed entry to the team practice.
Also, the March 28 practice is only open to those coaches participating in the UI’s Spring Football Clinic scheduled for Mar. 27-28 at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. Click HERE for more information about the camps and clinics to be staged the Iowa Hawkeyes this spring and summer.
The ten practices are on the following dates:
- Saturday, March 28
- Wednesday, April 1
- Friday, April 3
- Saturday, April 4
- Wednesday, April 8
- Thursday, April 9
- Friday, April 10
- Saturday, April 11
- Wednesday, April 15
- Thursday, April 16
The starting time for practices schedules on weekdays is 4 :30 p.m. Starting times for weekend practices are not yet determined and all practice times are subject to change.
Coach Kirk Ferentz’s squad will open spring drills on Wednesday, Mar. 25 and close them on Saturday, Apr. 18. There will be no spring game on the UI campus this April because of the repair of the drainage system for the playing field inside historic Kinnick Stadium.
The Hawkeyes open their 2009 season against Northern Iowa on Sept. 5. That contest will be one of seven home games of Iowa, a slate that also includes non-conference games against Arizona and Arkansas State, and dates with four Big Ten Conference opponents.
