Iowa Women to Compete at Baylor

THIS WEEK — Iowa will be traveling to Waco, TX, to compete in the Baylor Spring Invitational. The tournament is played at the Twin Rivers Golf Club, a 6,347 yard par 72 course.

THE COMPETITION — Iowa will be competing against in-state rival Iowa State along with Baylor, Colorado State, Illinois State, McLennan Community College, Missouri State, New Mexico State, SMU, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, University of North Texas, UT-Pan American, UT-San Antonio and Wichita State.

LINEUP — Competing for the Hawkeyes are seniors Tyrette Metzendorf and Becky Quinby, sophomores Brianna Coopman and Laura Cilek, and freshman Chelsea Harris. Junior Alison Cavanaugh will also be traveling, competing as an individual.

HEAD COACH Kelly Crawford — Coach Crawford’s thoughts after the first spring outing of the season, “I don’t believe we played our best at the Eagle Landing Invite. I know we are capable of competing at a higher level, and I expect a better showing at Baylor.”

LAST COMPETITION — The Hawkeyes just returned home from Florida after playing in the Eagle Landing Invitational. Iowa finished 12th shooting a team score 931. Seniors Becky Quinby and Tyrette Metzendorf led the Hawkeyes shooting 229, 228, respectively.

NEXT COMPETITION — Iowa will get a short break after Baylor to prepare for the Indiana Invitational in Carmel, IN. The invite will take place April 6-7, and is hosted by Indiana University.
