IOWA CITY, IA – Two Hawkeye senior golfers collected Big Ten Golfer of the Week honors after they competed at the Baylor Spring Invitational. Becky Quinby and Tyrette Metzendorf tied for 10th individually after each carded a 231. Quinby fired a season best 73 in her first round followed by consecutive rounds of 79. Metzendorf helped lead Iowa to a sixth place finish with rounds of 76, 75 and 80.
This is the first Golfer of the Week award for Iowa this season. Metzendorf earned the accolade last spring after finishing T13 at the Indiana Invite. The seniors, along with the rest of the Hawkeye golf team, will return to action at the Indiana Invite, April 6-7.
