IOWA CITY – – Oklahoma will meet Georgia Tech in an NCAA Second Round game Tuesday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. Tip-off is slated for 8:30 p.m.

The Sooners, who are the No. 1 seed in the Oklahoma City Region, bounced 16th-seeded Prairie View A&M, 76-47, last night in Iowa City. The Yellow Jackets tripped the eighth-seeded Hawkeyes, 76-62.

“I’d like to thank everyone who came out last night,” said Iowa Head Coach Lisa Bluder. “Despite the unusual starting time, our fans helped post the fourth-best attendance figure of the 16 first and second round sites over the weekend. Thank you! We truly appreciate the support and commitment our fans have made throughout the year.

“I encourage basketball fans in Iowa to, again, take advantage of this event and attend Tuesday night’s game. Both Oklahoma and Georgia Tech are outstanding basketball teams and it is sure to be an exciting game.”

As Coach Bluder mentioned, last night’s attendance figure of 5,615 was the fourth-best of the 16 first and second round women’s basketball sites over the weekend. Maryland had 10,847 fans, followed by 8,548 at Connecticut and 6,395 at Notre Dame. Iowa’s attendance figure bested Ohio State (5,249) and Michigan State (3,983), both of whom had afternoon start times Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
