Columbus, OH – – Iowa women’s golf held on through the third round of the Lady Buckeye Invitational to finish the tournament in 12th place. The Hawkeyes shot 325 as a team on the last 18 holes and carded a final team score of 962. No. 31 Ohio State finished in first place with 895 to win its 12th Lady Buckeye Invitational title.
Becky Quinby (+24, 240) led Iowa today with 79, tying for 48th individually, while fellow senior Tyrette Metzendorf, tied for 44th place, leading the team overall with 238 (+22). Freshman Chelsea Harris tied for 56th and finished the tournament with 242 (+26). Laura Cilek rounded out the Hawkeye scorecard with 248 (+32) and Brianna Coopman carded 253 (+37). Cilek finished 65th individually and Coopman tied for 75th.
Iowa will compete in its final tournament of the spring season next weekend. The team will travel to West Lafayette, IN, to participate in the Big Ten Championships, hosted by Purdue University. The tournament will tee off on Friday, April 24 and continue through Sunday, April 26.
