IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa field hockey, soccer and volleyball teams will appear on the Big Ten Network this fall. The field hockey and volleyball teams will be televised two times each, while the soccer squad will be broadcast once.
Fresh off a 2008 NCAA semifinal appearance, Head Coach Tracy Griesbaum and the field hockey team will open conference play at Michigan Friday, September 25 at 2 p.m. CT (broadcast delay, September 27 at 5 p.m. CT). The Hawkeyes will host defending Big Ten Champion Penn State at Grant Field Sunday, October 18 at 1 p.m. CT (broadcast delay, October 19 at 7 p.m. CT).
Head Coach Ron Rainey and the soccer team will host Wisconsin Sunday, October 4 at 1 p.m. CT. The contest will be televised live from the Iowa Soccer Complex.
Second-year Head Coach Sharon Dingman and the volleyball team will open the Big Ten season at Wisconsin Wednesday, September 23. The contest will be aired live at 7 p.m. CT. The rematch between the Hawkeyes and Badgers Wednesday, November 11 will be broadcast live from Carver-Hawkeye Arena at 7 p.m. CT.
