Iowa Part of ESPNs College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon

IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa men’s basketball game versus Duquesne is part of ESPN’s second annual College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

The marathon will be highlighted by 12 live games in 24 consecutive hours on the ESPN family of networks. Combined, the networks will televise at least 38 total hours of coverage with 19 games – 17 men’s and two women’s – in a minimum of 25-and-a-half hours. In addition to one exclusive matchup, will offer a simulcast of every ESPN and ESPN2 telecast.

ESPNs coverage will include a game from five different United States time zones. The games start at midnight ET with Cal State Fullerton visiting UCLA. The final two telecasts will showcase Gonzaga at Michigan State (8 p.m.) and Memphis vs. Kansas from St. Louis (10 p.m.) on ESPN.

A minimum of 20 conferences will be represented: ACC, Atlantic 10, America East, Big Ten, Big 12, BIG EAST, Big South, Big West, Big Sky, Conference USA, Colonial, Mid-American, Metro Atlantic Athletic, Mountain West, Northeast, Pac-10, Southeastern, Sun Belt, Western Athletic and West Coast. The Southern Conference could be added if Elon advances to the NIT regional final at Duke University, the host site.

The Iowa women’s basketball team participated in the inaugural event when it played at Kansas at 11 a.m. on ESPN last year.
