SEMINOLE QUAD TOURNAMENT
The team competed in the Seminole Quad tournament last weekend. The team faced Florida International, Florida State and Auburn in singles and doubles competition. The team went 7-2 in doubles competition and 6-12 in singles.

Sonja Molnar and Lynne Poggensee-Wei were undefeated in doubles competition. The duo won three matches. Merel Beelen and Zuzi Chmelarova were nearly perfect in doubles competition as well, posting a 2-1 record.

QUOTING Mira Radu
“This past weekend, we had a really good showing at Florida State. We saw some really positive things, especially in the doubles competition. It was encouraging to see them do so well after struggling a little bit last season. The competition at the Midwest Regionals is familiar to our players, but I am excited to see how Merel Beelen and Zuzi Chmelarova compete. Merel is gaining confidence after being out in the spring due to injury, and Zuzi will be competing in a new region this weekend. I’m really happy with how she has shown leadership on and off the court.”

COMPETITION
Teams participating in the tournament include seven Big Ten teams-Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern and Ohio State, as well as non-conference teams from Akron, DePaul, Eastern Michigan, UIC, IPFW, Western Michigan, Youngstown State and Notre Dame.
