Iowa 15th in Both Polls

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa ranks 15th in both national polls released on Sunday after discarding 18-point underdog status and forcing Ohio State into overtime Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.

The Hawkeyes rank behind the Buckeyes (9th) and Penn State (13th), and ahead of Wisconsin (17th) in the Associated Press Top 25. Iowa ranks behind Ohio State (8th), Penn State (12th) and Wisconsin (14th) in the USA Today Top 25.

Iowa defeated both Penn State and Wisconsin in road games earlier this season. All three teams have lost to OSU, Penn State in a home game, Wisconsin and Iowa in games played at Ohio State.

Florida ranks No. 1 in both of the Top 25’s. Alabama is No. 2 in the AP poll, Texas is No. 2 in the USA Today list.

Iowa entertains Minnesota at 11 a.m. on Saturday inside historic Kinnick Stadium. The annual battle for Floyd of Rosedale will be televised live by ESPN.
