Head Coach Lisa Bluder
“I’m very proud of this basketball team. It was our first road game of the year against a UNI team that is extremely fast and scrappy. I could go down the list of players and highlight everyone. We played very well and we are happy to come away with the win.”
“We finally got to the free throw line late, and that was nice to see.”
“We have had to deal with a lot of adversity, and we had so many players step into roles they have never played before tonight. Kelsey (Cermak) has never played the three, and Trisha (Nesbitt), has never played the two. Everyone played so hard tonight.”
Freshman Morgan Johnson
“It was a different atmosphere tonight, being on the road. I thought the team handled it very well.”
“The physicality of the college game is more difficult out there, but I’m getting through that. I did what I could do tonight. I knew I had to step up and block some shots.”
Sophomore Kamille Wahlin
“I was able to get open looks on screens, and my teammates did a great job of finding me.”
“It was great to come out and hit some shots, and our team did a great job of battling throughout the game. We have been through a lot to start the season, and this win feels great. UNI is a great team, and it’s always nice to get a win against an in-state rival.”
“Kachine (Alexander) brings an energy to the team. As a team, we had to pick it up with her being out and what she brings to the table.”
