Iowa drained 15 triples today on 31 attempts. The 15 treys ties a school record, previously accomplshed twice before (15 vs. Northwestern in 1998 and Long Island in 1994).
Iowa’s 80 points is its most in a single-game since netting 91 in a 91-78 victory at Minnesota on Feb. 7, 2007.
Iowa’s 29-point win (80-51) is its largest margin of victory since a 42-point (101-59) triumph over Georgia State on Dec. 20, 2007.
Eric May posted his first career double-double (14 points, 11 rebounds) in his first career start today. He also blocked a game-high three shots. The 11 rebounds and three blocks are personal bests.
Anthony Tucker reached the 20-point plateau for the second consecutive contest. The sophomore netted 20 points today to lead all scorers. He has made six triples in each of his last two games. Tucker made a combined 10 triples in Iowa’s first six games; he sank 12 the last two outings.
Iowa assisted on 21 of its 25 field goals tonight. The 21 assists are a season best.
Iowa’s next two games are on the road: Northern Iowa (Dec. 8) and Iowa State (Dec. 11).
