IOWA CITY, Iowa – A special edition of the weekly radio call-in show featuring University of Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz and Gary Dolphin, the radio voice of the Iowa Hawkeyes, will air on the Hawkeye Radio Network Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Hawk Talk with Kirk Ferentz/The FedEx Orange Bowl Preview Show presented by Hy-Vee will originate live beginning at 7 p.m. from Carlos O’Kelly’s Mexican Café in Iowa City, the longtime home of the Hawk Talk radio series. The 90-minute show will take a closer look at the 2009 regular season for the Hawkeyes and the 2010 FedEx Orange Bowl game against Georgia Tech on Jan. 5 at Land Shark Stadium in Miami.
The Hawkeyes’ game against the Yellow Jackets – the champions of the Atlantic Coast Conference – is Iowa’s second Bowl Championship Series game. It is also the sixth January bowl game in the last eight years and comes at the end of a regular season that included nine straight victories to open the year.
