IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa women’s basketball team is the No. 3 seed in this week’s Big Ten Tournament. The Hawkeyes will play Friday at approximately 1 p.m. (CT) against the winner of No. 6 seed Penn State vs. No. 11 seed Minnesota. The Lady Lions and Golden Gophers play Thursday at approximately 1:30 p.m. (CT).
The Hawkeyes earned the No. 3 seed with a 68-60 overtime win at Wisconsin Sunday. Iowa and Wisconsin finished tied for third in the conference with a 10-8 record, but the Hawkeyes swept the Badgers during the season to win the tiebreaker.
This is the first time in the 15-year history of the Big Ten Tournament that Iowa will play as the No. 3 seed.
All first round, quarterfinal and semifinal games can be seen live on the Big Ten Network (HD). The championship game will be televised on ESPN2.
