IOWA CITY, IA — The University of Iowa soccer team hosted its annual spring tournament last weekend inside the Bubble. The Hawkeyes posted a 3-0 record, including a win against the women’s soccer alumni team.

The tournament featured Iowa, Illinois State, North Dakota State, Drake and an Iowa alumni team. Head Coach Ron Rainey’s squad downed Drake, 6-0 and Illinois State, 2-0. The team also played the alumni team, 7-on-7 style, and won 8-5.

Keli McLaughlin scored four times for Iowa and Jade Grimm found the net twice. Alyssa Cosnek and Stefani Campbell each recorded one goal.

“I am excited about how we played this weekend,” Rainey said. “I felt the team took away chances this weekend, defensively, and created some great scoring opportunities against our opponents.”

Iowa travels to St. Louis University March 27th to take on the Billikens, before returning to Iowa City to host Graceland University April 10th.
