IOWA CITY, IA – For the second straight year, Iowa’s football contest against Big Ten rival Penn State will be televised in prime time. The Hawkeyes will host the Nittany Lions in Kinnick Stadium on Oct. 2nd. The announcement came today from the Big Ten Conference.
The game between Big Ten powers will be televised by ABC, ESPN or ESPN2, with kickoff set for 7:05 p.m. (CDT). This will be the Hawkeyes’ only prime time appearance, insofar as the Big Ten schedule is concerned. It’s likely that Iowa’s game at Arizona, on Sept. 18th, will be a night game on a yet to be determined television network.
Iowa played four night games last year and won all four. The 2009 night games were against Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and Georgia Tech in the FedEx Orange Bowl.
