Hawkeyes Ink Six

June 11, 2010

IOWA CITY, IA – The University of Iowa men’s swimming and diving team inked six student-athletes to National Letters of Intent during the spring signing period, Head Coach Marc Long announced Friday. The four swimmers and two divers increase Iowa’s incoming freshmen total to 11 student-athletes.

Swimmers Max Behles (Evanston, IL), Manuel Belzer (Schornsheim, Germany), Grant Betulius (Naperville, IL) and Andrew Marciniak (Gilbert, AZ) and divers Osvel Molina (Miami, FL) and Arsen Sarkisian, (Skokie, IL) signed with the Hawkeyes during the spring signing period.

“We’re pleased to add these outstanding individuals to our incoming class,” said Head Coach Marc Long. “We’re confident each will contribute greatly to our team’s academic and athletic success.”

The recent recruits join Tyler Lentz (Reedsburg, WI), Devon Meeks (Farmington, MN), Kyle Noser (Denver, CO), Dustin Rhoads (Ames, IA) and Gianni Sesto (Las Vegas, NV), who signed with the Hawkeyes in the fall.

The 2010 signees will join a Hawkeyes men’s team that finished last season with a 10-1 dual record and a sixth-place finish at the Big Ten Championships, the program’s highest finish in 14 years. The incoming student-athletes are set to enroll for the fall semester and join the Hawkeyes for the 2010-11 campaign.
