Badger Invitational Day 1 Results in PDF Format
MADISON, Wis. – – The University of Iowa women’s golf team is in fourth after two rounds of play at the Badger Invitational Sunday. The Hawkeyes shot two rounds under 300, posting rounds of 299 and 297 to finish the day at 596. They are behind host Wisconsin (582), Augusta State (590) and Xavier (594).
“I’m so happy for the team,” noted Head Coach Kelly Crawford. “What a great day! We gave back a few in our last couple of holes but we still played really solid. This is our potential. Another round like this tomorrow and I’ll be one happy coach!”
Sophomore Kristi Cardwell built on her third place finish at the Hawkeye Invitational, carding a 145 (+1). She enters the final round tied for sixth. Senior Laura Cilek shot her lowest round of the season in the first round (70, -2) to place tied for ninth.
Junior Chelsea Harris posted a 151 (+7) to tie for 16th. Senior Lauren Forbes finished both rounds with 77 (+5) to finish the day at 154 (+10). Her performance was good for a 25th place tie. Fellow senior Brianna Coopman rounded out the Iowa scorecard with a 157 (+13). Freshman Woojay Choi carded a 163 (+19) competing as an individual.
The final 18 holes will begin with an 8:00 a.m. (CT) shotgun start Monday. Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com.
