Blackout Saturday Opponent: No. 5 Michigan State

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Big Ten Conference’s highest ranked team will be visiting Kinnick Stadium Saturday when the UI plays the fifth annual “Blackout Saturday” game.

Iowa, ranked 18th in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 and 19th in USA Today’s elite list, will entertain unbeaten and fifth-ranked Michigan State at 2:30 p.m. Iowa time on Halloween Saturday.

The Spartans stand behind Oregon, Boise State, Auburn and Texas Christian in each poll. Wisconsin and Ohio State are ninth and 10th in each, respectively. Iowa entertains Ohio State Nov. 20 in Kinnick.

Fans of the Hawkeyes are encouraged to show their support for the Hawkeyes Saturday by wearing black to historic Kinnick Stadium for ‘Blackout Saturday.’

Michigan is the only other Big Ten team in the lists. The Wolverines check in at No. 25 in the USA Today Top 25.
