IOWA CITY, Iowa – – The University of Iowa field hockey team lost to No. 5 Ohio State at Grant Field Saturday, 3-0. The match was televised by the Big Ten Network and can be seen at 5 p.m. CT.

Ohio State (15-3, 5-1), who clinched at least a share of the regular season Big Ten championship with the win, scored in the 13th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Danica Deckard chipped in a goal off a rebound. The score would remain 1-0 at halftime.

In the early moments of the second half Berta Queralt scored to push the Buckeye lead to 2-0 (38:24). Jena Cacciatore scored at the 53:36 mark to push the Ohio State lead and the final score to 3-0. Sophomore goalkeeper Kathleen McGraw notched five saves.

Iowa (3-13, 0-6) returns to action Thursday at the Big Ten Tournament in Evanston, Ill. The Hawkeyes’ opponent and time will be determined when conference play concludes.
