Iowa No. 13 in Both Weekly Top 25s

Nov. 7, 2010

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The nationally ranked University of Iowa football team got a little more nationally ranked after its come-from-behind victory Saturday at Indiana, climbing to No. 13 in both of the weekly national polls.

Iowa climbed three positions in the USA Today list voted on by the coaches and two positions in the Associated Press list voted on by the media. The Hawkeyes are one of four Big Ten Conference teams in each poll. That list includes Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan State.

Oregon, Auburn and Texas Christian are the top three teams in each list.

Iowa, 7-2 overall and tied for the lead of the Big Ten Conference, plays at Northwestern next Saturday before returning to historic Kinnick Stadium on Nov. 20 for a date with Ohio State. That game is the Hawkeyes’ final home event of 2010. Iowa plays at Minnesota the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

This week’s Bowl Championship Series standings will be announced later today. Iowa will be among the teams included in that elite list as well.
