IOWA CITY, Iowa – – The Big Ten Conference announced that Hawkeye sophomore Jessica Barnett was named to the 2010 Big Ten All-Tournament Team, which took place last weekend in Evanston, Ill.
Barnett, a native of North Vancouver, Canada, has started every game of her Hawkeye career. She started all 19 games last year as a freshman and was a main contributor on Iowa’s defensive penalty corner unit. This year, she led the Black and Gold in goals (seven), points (14) and game-winning goals (two).
“JB (Jessica Barnett) competes on a daily basis,” said Head Coach Tracey Griesbaum. “She has been a key component to both our offense and defense this season. Her leadership and work ethic are felt on a daily basis. She represents the Hawkeyes well and we look forward to her contributions the next two years.”
