Iowa Women's Soccer Shines Off The Field

IOWA CITY, IA- The University of Iowa women’s soccer team was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Wednesday. The Hawkeyes were named to the 2010 NSCAA College Team Academic Award list. Teams must have an average grade-point average of 3.0 or higher to qualify for this honor.

Iowa boasts a team grade-point average of 3.26. The Black and Gold are one of seven Big Ten women’s soccer teams to be honored. Northwestern, Penn State, Ohio State, Minnesota, Purdue and Illinois all made the list for the second consecutive year.

The NSCAA honors men’s and women’s teams across the United States. This year, 635 programs earned the academic award (194 men’s and 441 women’s teams).
