Idaho State at Iowa
Postgame Iowa player Quotes

Sophomore Forward Eric May

On concerns on free throw shooting…

“No, it just happens in games, but I’m not worried about it. It’s something that’s going to keep getting better. In practice people are shooting free throws really well, so we just have to take it easy.”

On position where Iowa is against in state teams rivalries…

“It’s huge, not only just because they’re in-state games but these are wins that we got to start really getting on a streak, we got to start playing really well consistently, not just for one game, but for one half.”

On plays during second half…

“We were getting lazy on defense we were giving them a lot of space, giving them a lot of room to make plays. During the second half we started to lock up on defense more.”

Junior Guard Bryce Cartwright

On his play/style…

“Sometimes I try to push the ball every chance I get, but with every situation that they bring, you have to make plays accordingly.”

On cleaning things up…

“Just make smarter plays. Like the one with Matt (Gatens), that was a bad pass from me, it was my fault. I have to give him the ball.”

On how his game has improved…

“Maybe just putting it together in one sense, putting together maybe a complete game, earlier it was probably just one sided, maybe just eight assists or no points.”
