IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s soccer team defeated Illinois State, 1-0, Saturday at the Bubble. The Hawkeyes notched their third win of the spring season, previously downing Drake and Nebraska.
Freshman Leah DeMoss scored for Iowa to seal the single goal, shutout victory. Alyssa Cosnek, a junior from Aliquippa, Pa., earned the assist on the goal.
“We saw some nice things today, but we want to continue playing cleaner with our possessions,” head coach Ron Rainey said. “We think that will give us more scoring chances. We are looking forward to a good week of training before heading to Kansas.”
The Hawkeyes are set to face Kansas and Iowa State next weekend in Lawrence.
