Full Women's Basketball Schedule Released

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s basketball team has released its complete 2011-12 schedule, including television and web stream information, along with start times for the entire season. The Hawkeyes will make a total of 25 appearances on ESPN2, BTN, Fox Sports, Mediacom or BigTenNetwork.com.

“The level of national exposure we will receive this year is outstanding,” Head Coach Lisa Bluder said. “Fans across the country can see us on national television and people around the world can watch our streamed games on BTN.com. It’s great to see women’s basketball receive this much coverage.”

The Hawkeyes will appear six times in HD on BTN, with the possibility of two more games being added to the broadcast lineup. Iowa’s first game on BTN will be on Jan. 2 at Ohio State (12 or 2 p.m.) followed by a home game on Jan. 8 vs. Nebraska (3 p.m.). Iowa’s contest at Purdue on Jan. 15 (1 p.m.) and the rematch against the Boilermakers in Iowa City on Jan. 28 (2 p.m.) will be on BTN. Iowa’s game at Michigan on Feb. 12 (2 p.m.), along with a home matchup against Michigan State on Feb. 12 (2 p.m.) will be televised on BTN.

Iowa final two contests of the year (Feb. 23 at Northwestern and Feb. 26 at Michigan) are BTN wildcard games and could be televised live. If not, they will be streamed on BTN.com. In addition, the entire 2012 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.

Iowa’s Big Ten/Big 12 game at Kansas State on Dec. 3 (7 p.m.) will be shown on Fox Sports Kansas City, while its road game at Penn State on Jan. 22 (2 p.m.) will be aired live on ESPN2.

Iowa will have a total of six games televised on Mediacom. Those games include road contests at Northern Iowa on Nov. 19 (3 p.m.) and at Iowa State on Dec. 7 (7 p.m.). Home games on Mediacom include vs. on Drake Dec. 20 (7 p.m.), Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 22 (5 p.m.), Northwestern on Dec. 30 (7 p.m.) and Illinois on Jan. 5 (7 p.m.) All home games televised on Mediacom will also be available on BTN.com.

The Hawkeyes are scheduled for 13 games on BTN.com. Hawkeye All-Access subscribers can watch live video streams of UI events on the BTN Digital Network at no extra charge. All 16 conference games will air on ESPN2, BTN, Mediacom or BTN.com.

Game times for the first round of the Hawkeye Challenge are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, after the start time for the Michigan State vs. Iowa football game has been set.
