EVANSTON, Ill. — The 11th-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team shut out Pacific, 4-0, Sunday at Lakeside Field in Evanston, Ill. Iowa moves to 13-3 overall (4-2 in Big Ten play) with one regular season non-conference game remaining.

The Hawkeyes struck first. At the 21:14 mark, sophomore Kelsey Mitchell scored to give Iowa a 1-0 lead. The Hawkeyes led at the half, 1-0.

The Iowa offense continued to apply pressure in the second half, leading to three goals in the period. Marike Stribos scored off a penalty corner at the 49:51 mark on a pass from junior Jessica Barnett to make the score 2-0.

Iowa extended its lead to 3-0 at the 61:34 mark on a goal by Aubrey Coleman. The sophomore found the left side of the cage off a pass from fellow sophomore Stribos.

At the 65:05 mark, freshman Corinne Allen scored on a corner to make the final score 4-0. The goal was assisted by Mitchell and Coleman.

Goalkeeper Kathleen McGraw recorded two saves and recorded her sixth shutout of the season. She has notched 11 career shutouts.

The Black and Gold dominated possession throughout. Pacific (2-12) tallied four shots and one penalty corner, while the Hawkeyes registered 33 shots and 16 penalty corners.

Iowa (13-3, 4-2), winner of five-straight overall, concludes the regular season Friday at Ball State. The game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. (CT).
