IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa students are being provided a special opportunity to help Fran McCaffery’s squad secure victories in their final six home games of the 2012 Big Ten Conference season.
Beginning today, the UI Athletics Ticket Office is accepting orders for the “6-for-5” UI student ticket package. The offer includes a student ticket to each of Iowa’s remaining six home games beginning with Thursday night’s contest against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
UI students pay just $50 for the special ticket package and are guaranteed a free ticket to the Hawkeyes’ game against Minnesota on Wednesday, Feb. 1. The game with the Gophers is the second and final “UI Students Free” game of the 2011-12 Iowa men’s basketball season.
UI students can place their “6-for-5” ticket order from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at the UI Athletics Ticket Office in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. They also have the option of placing their “6-for-5” ticket order from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, at the Iowa Memorial Union.
UI students who are season ticket holders for UI men’s basketball but have not yet picked up their season ticket and their official Hawks Nest t-shirt can do so Tuesday and Thursday at the UI Athletics Ticket Office in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, or at the IMU on Wednesday.
UI students who are season ticket holders and those who purchase the “6-for-5” ticket package are guaranteed a free ticket to the Iowa-Minnesota game. UI students who aren’t a season ticket holder or who do not purchase a “6-for-5” ticket package can claim a free ticket to that game beginning Monday, Jan. 30, at the UI Athletics Ticket Office. A limited number of free tickets are available.
Iowa defeated league-leading and nationally-ranked Michigan in its last appearance on Mediacom Court in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The 2011-12 Hawkeyes have already matched their win total of last year with 11 regular season and at least one Big Ten Tournament game left to play.
UI students with questions about the “6-for-5” UI student ticket offer or UI men’s basketball ticket can contact the UI Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800 IA-HAWKS.
