IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery and his staff are introducing a new Father-Son Boys Basketball Camp this year. The camp will be held July 6-7 on Carver-Hawkeye Arena’s main court and practice facility in Iowa City.
This camp is an opportunity for fathers and sons to come together and learn basketball at a very introductory level. Attention will be focused on development of young basketball players as their fathers work alongside them. Along with the fundamentals of basketball, this camp will emphasize the importance of building meaningful relationships.
There is limited enrollment for this camp, which is for children in kindergarten to those who have completed sixth grade. The cost of the camp is $210.
The camp includes fundamentals, games, contests and individual instruction from coach McCaffery and Iowa coaches and players. Fathers and sons will both receive an official Iowa Basketball NIKE camp t-shirt and sons will receive an official NIKE Iowa Hawkeye camp basketball.
