Trussov Competes at Short Course World Championships

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa freshman swimmer Roman Trussov posted a pair of top 40 finishes at the Short Course World Championships in Instabul, Turkey. The five-day competition wrapped up on Dec. 16.

Trussov posted a 22nd place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke, posting a time of 2:10.86. He also touched the wall in 39th place in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:00.50. The Kazakhstan native also competed in the 50-meter breaststroke, but was disqualified.

The Hawkeyes return to action tonight in Colorado Springs, Colo., facing Colorado College and Austin College beginning at 6 p.m. (CT).
