IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Iowa football program ranks tied for fourth among all schools with six players in the AFC and NFC Championship Games. The Hawkeyes tied for ninth in the nation with 10 former players on NFL playoff rosters. Iowa tied for ninth in the nation with 25 former players on active NFL rosters this season. In addition, nine other Hawkeyes reside on practice squads or injured reserve.

Iowa ties for second in the Big Ten amongst NFL alumni on active rosters. Ohio State leads the way with 35, while the Hawkeyes and Michigan both have 25. Iowa has five former tight ends in the league, which equals USC and Stanford for the most.

Jonathan Babineaux – DL – Atlanta Falcons: Babineaux recorded three tackles on Sunday in the win over Seattle, tallying a tackle for loss and a sack. He has started the last 77 games for Atlanta. Babineaux leads the Falcons with eight tackles for loss this year.

Bryan Bulaga – OL – Green Bay Packers: Bulaga finished the season on injured reserve. He is in his third season with Green Bay, and has made 33 career starts. Bulaga won a Super Bowl ring during his rookie season with the Packers in 2010.

Sean Considine – DB – Baltimore Ravens: Considine recorded a solo tackle as the Ravens notched a come-from-behind victory at Denver on Saturday. Considine, who has played in all 18 games this season, and the Ravens play at New England on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. (CT) in a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship game.

Mike Daniels – DL – Green Bay Packers: Daniels recorded two solo tackles in the loss at San Francisco on Saturday night.

Brad Herman – TE – New England Patriots: In his first year in the league, Herman is on the Patriots’ injured reserve list.

Jeff Tarpinian – LB – New England Patriots: Tarpinian is a member of New England’s practice squad. He played in seven games with one start for the Patriots in 2011, and played in three contests this season.

Marshal Yanda – OL – Baltimore Ravens: Yanda, named an AFC Pro Bowl starter for the second-straight season, started for the Ravens in their 38-35 win at Denver on Saturday. He has made 74 career starts in six years for the Ravens. Yanda and the Ravens play at New England on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. (CT) in a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship game.

Markus Zusevics – OL – New England Patriots: In his first year in the league, Zusevics has not seen action to date.
