IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery will meet the media at 2 p.m. (CT) today to talk about the Hawkeyes’ upcoming game against Purdue.
The briefing with local, regional and national media will be held in the Media Room inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and be available live from start to finish on Hawkeye All-Access, the multimedia portal inside hawkeyesports.com, the official worldwide website of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The Hawkeyes and Boilermakers square off Wednesday night at 7:36 p.m. (CT) on Mediacom Court inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Iowa (17-10 overall, 6-8 Big Ten) is coming off a 64-60 road loss at Nebraska on Saturday. The Hawkeyes led by 19 points in the first half before being outscored 39-19, as the Huskers rallied for the victory.
The Boilermakers (13-14 overall, 6-8 Big Ten) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 74-43 rout of Northwestern on Sunday inside Mackey Arena. Purdue has dropped 5-of-8 games since beating the Hawkeyes on Jan. 27. The other victory was at Penn State (58-49) on Feb. 5.
Iowa fell 65-62 in overtime on Jan. 27 in West Lafayette, Ind., in the season’s first meeting. The Hawkeyes rallied from an 11-point deficit and had a chance to win it at the end of regulation, but junior Roy Devyn Marble’s attempt was off the mark.
