IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery will meet the media at 2 p.m. (CT) today to talk about the Hawkeyes’ regular season finale against Nebraska.
The briefing with local, regional and national media will be held in the Media Room inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and be available live from start to finish on Hawkeye All-Access, the multimedia portal inside hawkeyesports.com, the official worldwide website of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The Hawkeyes and Cornhuskers meet Saturday at 1:21 p.m. (CT) on Mediacom Court inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network with Wayne Larrivee and Shon Morris calling the action.
Saturday is Senior Day with the Hawkeyes honoring Eric May and Christopher Rickert prior to the contest.
Iowa(19-11 overall, 8-9 Big Ten) is coming off a 63-55 victory over Illinois on March 5 in Iowa City. A win over Nebraska would give the Hawkeyes 20 wins for the first time in seven seasons (2005-06).
Junior Roy Devyn Marble enters the game two points shy of 1,000 for his career. When he accomplishes the feat, Marble will be the 41st player in Iowa history to score 1,000 points and the 29th Hawkeye to accomplish the feat in three years or less.
Nebraska brings a 14-16 overall and 5-12 Big Ten record into the contest. The Huskers are 2-2 in their last four contests, which includes a 53-51 victory over Minnesota on Wednesday night.
The Hawkeyes saw a 19-point lead evaporate in the Feb. 21 matchup in Lincoln — a 64-60 Husker victory. Iowa leads the all-time series, 13-9, but Nebraska is 2-1 over the Hawkeyes since joining the Big Ten.
