McCaffery Live Tuesday at 2 p.m. (CT)

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa head men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery will meet the media at 2 p.m. (CT) Tuesday to preview the 2013 Big Ten Tournament.

The briefing with local, regional and national media will be held in the Media Room inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and be available live from start to finish on Hawkeye All-Access, the multimedia portal inside hawkeyesports.com, the official worldwide website of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The sixth-seeded Hawkeyes open tournament play Thursday at 8 p.m. (CT) against No. 11 seed Northwestern at the United Center in Chicago. The game will be televised on ESPN2 with Mike Tirico, Dan Dakich, and Samantha Ponder calling the action.

Iowa swept the season series against the Wildcats, winning by an average of 17 points. The Hawkeyes won in Evanston, 70-50, on Jan. 13 and completed the season sweep with a 71-57 victory in Iowa City on Feb. 9.

The Hawkeyes (20-11, 9-9) have won six of their last eight games to post their first 20-win season since 2005-06. Northwestern has lost eight straight and 10-of-11 to finish 13-18 overall and 4-14 in Big Ten play.
